GM Recalling 193,652 midsize SUV
AUGOCOM Auto Key Programmer General Motors is recalling 193,652 SUVs on the concern that a short circuit can cause fire. The recall affects 2006-2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer , GMC Envoy , Buick Rainier, Saab 9 -7X and Isuzu Ascender SUV , and Trailblazer EXT and Envoy XL 2006 models.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said that may leak into the module of the driver's door . Corrosion can occur as a result , which could cause a short circuit and operate switches windows poorly or not at all. NHTSA said a short circuit could cause overheating of components, increasing the risk of fire.
SI-Reset BMW NHTSA says that the fire could start while the vehicle is not used , and advises owners to park outside until the problem has been resolved.
The Detroit News reports that at least 28 fires have been reported, some of which occurred when the SUV were unattended. The publication says that this is the second point related to this issue since last August , and about 440,000 SUVs were recalled in total.
